I Trained Like Hannibal For King

We all have someone we look up to, someone who inspires you to start something new and changes us for the better. For Chris, there are two people, and one of them is Hannibal for King: the Legend who inspired him on his calisthenics journey.

Hannibal has been at the forefront of the calisthenics movement inspiring Chris and other athletes to start training using their own body weight, mostly in the form of street workouts: in public parks and beaches around the country. He is also known for creating the ‘Around the World’ workout routine for beginners that utilizes push-ups, pull ups and dips.

In the early days, Chris’ love of calisthenics drew him to the bars on the beach of Ocean Drive every Saturday at 2:00pm. Here he found a like-minded group who shared his passion for the sport, and he trained using Hannibal for King’s videos, gaining muscle definition and strength over time. Today, he revisits and rates the difficulty of some of the iconic and hardest exercises by Hannibal.

As a result of his early experiences, Chris’ is trying to build a calisthenics community all around the world and invites all who are interested in this movement to show up at your local pull-up bar park to train every Saturday at 2:00pm. Hope to see you there!
